Job Description

The Amazon Publisher Monetization (APM) team in Ads is shaping the future of monetization for Amazons advertising supported publishers (e.g. Prime Video Twitch etc.). Our mission is to build earths most customer-centric advertising services.

As we continue building out our team we are looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer to own end to end data solutions for publisher. As a key analytics partner in APM Analytics team you will influence the direction of the business by leveraging our data to delivery insights that drive strategic decisions and actions. This role involves translating complex publisher monetization challenges into specific analytics projects conducting deep quantitative analysis and effectively communicating results that shape our publisher strategies. You will help the organization identify evaluate and implement new tools and methodologies to enhance our monetization capabilities and deliver greater value to our advertising customers and publishing partners.

This role requires an individual with excellent business acumen communication skills and technical expertise enabling effective collaboration across various functions including Product Managers Data Engineers Finance Software Engineers Data Scientists and senior leadership. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and embraces challenges demonstrating competence in handling complex publisher datasets and open business problems. You should have strong ownership and ability to work in our fast-paced ever-changing and high-energy environment where your insights will directly impact the growth and success of our publisher monetization initiatives.


Key job responsibilities
- Support new initiatives and provide data ownership end-to-end with business stakeholders; drive continued growth through data insights
- Review existing data challenges to deliver a comprehensive solution with appropriate data strategy and tools
- Design develop build and maintain scalable data solutions including infrastructure pipeline reporting to support long-term business strategies
- Simplify and re-invent current data solutions to support the business scope expansion
- Translate business problems into data questions find solutions to solve those questions with resourcefulness
- Identify areas of opportunities and present analytical findings and recommendations to business leadership
- Work cross-functionally with other teams in various job families to gather data sources to provide a comprehensive view of the business inclusive of supply demand sales operations shopper etc.
- Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting/analysis: data integrity test design analysis validation and documentation

- 3 years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift Oracle NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau Quicksight or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2 DynamoDB S3 and Redshift
- Experience in data mining ETL etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
