The overall function of this position is to ensure that the needs of the Teknion user community are being met in all aspects of IT support. The Endpoint Support Specialist will be responsible for supporting Teknion Corporation company endpoints network equipment and various technology assets across the USA at various sites. The Endpoint Support Specialist must be able to work autonomously while being part of a larger remote Workplace Technology and Infrastructure teams. The position functions within a very fast paced and continually changing environment and requires a person who can handle the day-to-day pace.
Specific Accountabilities:
- Installation maintenance and troubleshooting of the following:
- Computer hardware and software
- Laser printers and barcoding printers
- Mobile devices (cell phones tablets and barcode scanners)
- Network equipment (firewalls switches routers)
- Audio-visual equipment for meeting room
- Evaluating prioritizing and resolution of support tickets within SLAs established within the ticketing system
- Set-up delivery and installation of new equipment
- Follows departmental procedures for maintaining asset inventory
- Responsible for working with all members of the Workplace Technology Team and IT Department.
- Cybersecurity oriented task to limit the risk to the corporate network
- Assist with moves adds and changes within Teknion offices as required.
- Identifying evaluating and providing recommendations on new technologies to the management team
- Work on various IT initiatives related to endpoint management network cybersecurity OT network and CNC machine.
- Be the onsite presence and representative for the corporate IT department and lead local IT initiatives.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements:
- Min 5 years experience within a similar environment
- University or College degree or certificate in computer science or equivalent
- Good interpersonal skills as well as good written and oral communications skills
- Excellent knowledge of PC hardware software and windows/Mac operating systems.
- Basic knowledge of a local network topology (IP address VLAN layer 2 switches)
- Knowledge of Audio Visual systems and equipment will be beneficial.
- Knowledge of network routing protocol and firewall will be beneficial.
- Ability to work autonomously under the pressure induced by a production environment
- Valid drivers license and automobile.
- Must be willing to travel as needed to individual USA Showrooms and office locations to deliver/install/troubleshoot equipment.
- Must be capable of lifting computer equipment.
- Be able to work within a manufacturing environment as well as sales offices.
