You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe South West Aboriginal Medical Service (SWAMS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service based in Bunbury which provides a variety of health services to Aboriginal people in the South West Great South Upper wheatbelt and Peel Regions of Western Australia. SWAMS delivers a wide range of Services including: GP Clinics Primary Health Care Counselling NDIS and community host various programs. SWAMS has a strong growth strategy through partnership opportunities and future community development.
The SWAMS is dedicated to enhancing employment opportunities and outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. This position is designated under Section 50 of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA) and as such only Aboriginal people are eligible to apply.
About the role
This role will be responsible for overseeing the waiting area to ensure a welcoming calm and respectful environment for clients providing clear communication regarding waiting times and clinic processes building trust and rapport with clients by offering warm and empathetic support working closely with clinic staff to enhance intake procedures and client experiences and contributing to initiatives that strengthen community relationships. You will be assisting clients with accessing appropriate services at SWAMS and other community services guiding clients through paperwork related to new client registration membership MyMedicare and Closing the Gap (CTG) programs as well as maintaining accurate client records. About you
We are looking for a local Aboriginal community member who loves to support their mob. This role will require someone who enjoys mingling and yarning to the public and engaging in conversation with others. You will be service oriented and wanting to help others achieve the outcome they want while ensuring they have a comfortable experience.
