Job Description:
The Ensemble Department is seeking a pianist to accompany students in ensemble classes. The pianist will act as part of the house band for regularly scheduled Ensemble Department classes and periodic additional accompanying assignments for recitals concerts auditions and special events.MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Have a strong musical background in a wide range of styles.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Act as house band for regularly scheduled Ensemble Department classes.
Participate in Ensemble Departmentperformances and/or additional rehearsals.
Accompany Visiting Artists concerts clinics and workshops.
Assist students and faculty during class time.
Some nights/weekends may be required.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Excellent sight-reading
Excellent musicianship especially the ability to groove
A background in all Contemporary styles.
Have complete technical command of the instrument.
Are sensitive to the needs of vocalists.
Cultivate a supportive learning environment.
Promote a climate of respect for personal and cultural differences.
Value ethical behavior in all aspects of personal and professional life.
Are self-critical questioning and committed to personal excellence and self-improvement.

Hiring Range:
The hourly rate for this role is $40 per hour.
