JOB PURPOSE
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Controller to play a key role in our accounting operations. This position is responsible for overseeing Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable and General Ledger activities for one of the PAGs business units ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting and maintaining strong internal controls. The ideal candidate will lead month-end and year-end close processes conduct financial reviews and drive continuous improvements in accounting policies and procedures. This role requires strong leadership analytical skills and the ability to optimize financial processes while ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job Functions:
Month-end Close process and accounting responsibilities.
Lead the month-end and year-end close processes ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
Prepare and review reconciliations journal entries payroll and adjustments to ensure the accuracy and completeness of PAGs financial statements.
Accurately and timely prepare financial statements including balance sheets income statements and cash flow statements.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and all relevant federal state and local regulations.
Maintain and improve internal controls account policies and procedures to ensure financial integrity and operational efficiency.
Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting.
Documenting financial processes
Perform technical accounting research and provide technical guidance by documenting memos as needed.
Reporting
Prepare and develop various monthly and annual reports
Provide support and respond to information requests from the sites operational team senior management and other departments.
Provide Ad Hoc reporting as assigned
Participate in various budgeting and forecasting exercises.
AP/AR management
Lead the team of clerical staff to ensure a supportive high-performing culture and support financial and accounting activities.
Supervise and mentor AP/AR staff ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices payments and collections.
Assist in difficult collection situations as needed.
Conduct performance evaluations provide training and support professional development.
Review general ledger coding for consistency
Other duties
Assist with ad hoc items as requested by the Chief Financial Officer and / or Senior Management Team members Assist with the annual budgets variance reporting audits and other projects as required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands:Requires sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Requires frequent walking bending and reaching to shoulder level. Requires occasional squatting lifting carrying pushing or pulling weights up to 20 pounds. Requires repetitive hand movement. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Education/Training: Bachelors degree in accounting. CPA preferred but not required
3 years of accounting experience
Must be reliable and dependable
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent follow-up documentation and communication skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Experience with the month-end process and knowledge of AR AP Payroll GAAP and GL proficient in Microsoft Excel
Some experience supervising accounting teams
