This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of elementary school students in urban diverse communities.

We are seeking aself-sufficient pediatrician to work 20 hours per week and is comfortable working independently in a school setting. Candidates with23 years of experienceare preferred butresidents will be considered.

Position Highlights:

• Patient Population:

  • Pediatricelementary school students

  • Urban and diversecommunities with a variety of languages spoken. Many patients from underserved communities.

  • Parentsopt-into enroll their children in the school-based health system

  • This rolesupplementsthe family pediatrician and isnot a substitutefor a full pediatric practice or medical home

• Clinical Focus:

  • Immunizations asthma management wellness checks behavioral health seen by BHT

  • Visits occur with a RN or medical assistant however; a parent may not be present and visits will often require follow up

• Volume:

  • Average of11.5 visits per hour with a maximum of 2 per hour

• Schedule:

  • 20 hours per week. 8 hours at each of two schools

  • Two full days (approx. 8 AM4 PM)

  • 4 hours of administrative/supervisory timefor APC/clinical education

  • Schedule isschool calendar dependent

  • Monthly Elementary Provider meetings

  • Monthly medical providers meetings

  • Low summer volume ideal for taking vacations

• Call Schedule: No call no nights no weekends

• Practice Environment:

  • Dedicated office spacein the schools with Medical Assistant Office Assistant and NP Elementary Cooridinator

  • Support services include: Behavioral Health Therapist Community health worker Registered part-time dietician Language Line and iPad translation services
