Job Description

The Hyster Operators primary duties are to safely transport goods and product throughout the plant or warehouse facility load outgoing trucks (including inspection securing documentation) unload inbound trucks (including inspection documentation) and arrange product for storage or shipping. Timeliness accuracy and safety are critical to performance of all job duties. Maintaining accurate row sheets is critical. Proper scanning of all movements of products and ingredients to insure all inventory is properly moved scanned and documented both physically and within the Companys Navision ERP program is critial.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate a hyster and hyster attachments so as to be able to safely timely and accurately transport items throughout the plant and warehouse.
  • Pick stage loads for outgoing shipments.
  • Load outgoing shipments including inspecting trailers and equipment loading the shipment properly securing loads insuring proper documentation and paperwork is completed for all loads.
  • Unloading inbound shipments including inspecting condition of shipment and insuring proper documentation and paperwork is received and/or completed.
  • Maintain accurate row sheets within the warehouses.
  • Utilize Navision scanning equipment to insure all items are properly moved both physically and within the Navision ERP system so as to accurately track its description quantity location.
  • Keep all required records complete; accurately and legibly record information in English.
  • Ensure the Company standard of oldest dates to ship first (first-in first-out) are maintained.
  • Insure all job duties are performed to prevent damage to inventory and to prevent damage to any Company property or equipment.
  • Follow all Company safety policies and procedures.
  • Work as assigned in the shipping area; be flexible and willing to help as necessary.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned and keep manager informed of progress and/or problems of all pallets containers or product.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of related equipment policies and procedures to ensure the safety of product and personnel.
  • Move levers or controls that operate Hyster equipment in order to load or unload materials from pallets platforms storage areas or transport vehicles.
  • Position forks / lifting devices under over or around loaded pallets boxes totes or other items needing relocation.
  • Must be able to certify on Hyster and follow all procedures and guidelines for safe equipment operation.
  • Ability to effectively understand and utilize scanning equipment.
  • Previous Hyster operation experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of load distribution load/weight shift transportation methods and requirements for shipping products over the road helpful.
  • Knowledge of production and processing including quality control cost control waste elimination and effective distribution of goods helpful.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Able to complete certification of training in appropriate areas.
  • Must be able to follow first in first out (FIFO) policies and row sheets.
  • Willingness to know and understand Idaho Pacific product codes.
  • Ability to identify product and HOLD product.
  • Safety and Quality conscious.

Education:

Education must be of such level as to allow for the accurate reading writing calculation and communication of the required materials and instructions to complete the job responsibilities. High school diploma/equivalent or higher education preferred.


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand bend sit or move repetitively for up to 12 hours.
  • Must be able to lift on a regular basis up to 50 lbs without assistance and up to 100 lbs with assistance.
  • Ability to tolerate dust or chemicals.
  • Bending stretching lifting reaching climbing crawling and fingering required. Must be able to see and hear sufficiently to operate equipment safely in an environment with high levels of noise and low-lit areas.
  • Quick reaction time good hand/eye coordination ability to perceive and judge distances and see details at close range.
  • Willing to work weekends holidays and overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing and general warehouse environment with exposure to extreme hot or cold steam dust wet / humid conditions loud noises low lit areas and cramped or crowded conditions.
