Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor - Development / Residential Projects - Swindon / Wantage or Chippenham
Location: Wiltshire. Oxfordshire
Company Overview: A leading development firm known for delivering high-quality projects across the Southwest is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor in their Bristol office to work on Bristol-based projects.
You will be supported by a Managing QS and be given exposure to a broad range of development projects both green and brownfield.

Position Overview: As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful financial and contractual management of the project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying with a focus on new build construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented professional to contribute to the success of a high-profile development in Bristol.
Responsibilities:
- Cost Management: Efficiently manage project costs including budgeting forecasting and financial reporting.
- Contract Administration: Administer and manage contracts ensuring compliance and minimizing risks.
- Tendering: Prepare and analyze tender documents manage the tendering process and negotiate contracts.
- Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
- Financial Reporting: Provide accurate and timely financial reports to senior management.
- Subcontractor Management: Evaluate and manage subcontractor performance including payments and variations.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify and manage project risks implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
- Client Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Degree /HND in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor preferably on new build projects.
- Skills: Strong analytical negotiation and communication skills. Proficient in relevant software tools.
- Certification: Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g. RICS) is desirable.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and coordinate with various stakeholders.
