About the Position:
The The City of San Bernardino is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT Analyst I (Flex) to join our Police Department. IT Analyst I (Flex) is the entry and probationary level in the IT Analyst series. Incumbents perform the more routine duties in development modification installation and/or maintenance of City systems and applications. This class is distinguished from Information Technology Analyst II in that incumbents in the latter class perform higher level systems design and development work for moderately complex systems requiring a greater knowledge of City operational requirements systems and operating platforms.

A Day in the Life Consists of:
As an IT Analyst I (Flex) with the City of San Bernardino your day will focus on supporting City departments by maintaining and improving software applications systems and user experiences. Youll work closely with end users fellow IT staff and vendors to troubleshoot issues implement updates and contribute to technical projects that support essential City services. Your day may include:
Responding to help desk tickets and resolving routine software hardware or application issues.
Supporting City departments by troubleshooting testing and modifying existing systems and applications.
Assisting with the development documentation and implementation of new applications or upgrades.
Writing and testing basic code or queries to improve system functionality and reporting.
Participating in meetings with users to gather system requirements and provide training or demonstrations.
Coordinating with vendors and technical staff to ensure software and systems are functioning as expected.
Maintaining data integrity and supporting the security of City applications and infrastructure.
Creating and updating documentation such as user guides technical procedures and system workflows.
Staying up to date on new technologies and participating in training opportunities to enhance your skills.
Contributing to team projects process improvements and innovation efforts across the Citys IT operations.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in computer science management information systems or a closely related field;
AND
At least two (2) years of responsible experience in the development installation and maintenance of computer applications; or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
Licenses Certifications and Equipment:
A valid California drivers license is required.
