SUMMARY
Develops coordinates and implements the summer activity programs available to families of members and guests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
OUTCOME
The La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club Inc. operates in a very family-oriented environment. Primarily during the summer months and holiday periods. A solid summer activities program for all ages is essential to enhance and add value to the guest experience at both the Club and the Shores Hotel. The Recreation Supervisor will create a new opportunity that engage all ages with creative and lively programs through themes such as: wellness culinary social kid focused adult focused and more. The supervisor will be a relationship builder and realize the potential of the loyalty of our long term stay guests and membership in this rewarding role.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Is responsible for the supervision coordination and evaluation of the Recreation Activities Coordinators.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing hiring and training employees; planning assigning and directing work addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree (B.A.) or equivalent in education or related industry required; or minimum of two years related experience and/or training in equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively in English before guests children parents managers or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add subtract multiply and divide. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest commissions proportions and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS
All employees in this position must obtain and maintain current CPR & First Aid Training Card.

While performing the duties of this job the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
INTERACTION
While performing the duties of this job the employee will interact frequently with the adult members and apartment guests as well as the children of members and apartment guests. This employee will also interact frequently with the membership services front desk staff catering staff and beach crew members as well as occasional interaction with the housekeeping and engineering staffs. The employee must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with both internal and external customers mentioned.
SCHEDULING
This company operates seven days a week 24 hours a day. Shifts will generally be rotated unless you were hired for a specific shift as much as possible to be fair to everyone. At times it may be necessary to move you from your accustomed shift if business or task assignments demand. In addition it should be understood that business needs determine the number of hours that you work.
