Title: Oklahoma Solicitor General Fellowship
Salary Range: $90000 annually
Location of Work: Oklahoma City OK
The Oklahoma Office of the Attorney General is seeking applicants for a one-year fellowship defending Oklahomas interests in both federal and state courts in its Solicitor General Unit.
Job Summary:
The Solicitor General Unit supervises appellate litigation on behalf of the Office of the Attorney General and directly handles those appeals determined to be most significant to Oklahoma and to the development of federal and state jurisprudence. Fellows will have the unique opportunity to research and draft briefs before the U.S. Supreme Court U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeal and the Oklahoma Supreme Court. Fellows will also have an opportunity to assist in the preparation for any scheduled oral arguments in those cases.
Qualifications:
The applicant must be licensed and admitted to practice law in at least one state or have admission pending. Applicants must have demonstrated outstanding research and writing skills a familiarity with and interest in federal constitutional law and statutory interpretation and an interest in Oklahoma constitutional law. Judicial clerkship experience particularly at the federal appellate level is strongly favored.
