Lead the resolution process for state complaints due process hearings and Office for Civil Rights (OCR) investigations related to special education and Section 504.
Oversee district-wide compliance with IDEA Section 504 and state special education mandates ensuring alignment with legal standards and procedural safeguards.
Serve as the districts designated liaison with TEA regarding compliance reviews monitoring activities and Corrective Action Plans (CAPs).
Collaborate with legal counsel to prepare district responses settlements and documentation related to litigation or complaints.
Provide technical guidance and coaching to campus administrators principal supervisors and special education personnel regarding compliance expectations and best practices.
Analyze compliance indicators and audit data to identify system gaps trends and areas for corrective improvement.
Develop and lead professional development initiatives to improve district-wide capacity in legal compliance and inclusive practices.
Maintain accurate documentation and systems for tracking responding to and reporting on compliance issues and state monitoring outcomes.
Serve as an escalation point for complex compliance concerns and advise senior leadership on policy or procedural risks.
Prepares and presents information as requested or needed to communicate key issues/topics to district staff and key stakeholders.
