Position Summary:
The Residential Monitor is responsible for providing direct supervision to 30 single adult men enrolled in Isaiahs House Bridge Shelter program with the ultimate goal of helping participants transition to permanent housing. The Residential Monitors role is to promote independent living skills and self-sufficiency of all clients served. Functions include providing security for the facility enforcing program rules and regulations as well as providing support to the case management team.
Essential Functions:
- Monitor facility and conduct facility rounds ensuring designated doors are locked cameras are operating properly hallways/facility are free from obstacles and other safety hazards cleaning supplies are kept in a locked designated area and facility is clean and organized at all times
- Provide excellent customer service by answering telephones greeting visitors front desk operations and other administrative tasks as assigned
- Provide supervision to residents individually or in group activities including meals chores and during community room hours to ensure program compliance
- Complete all required paperwork in a timely accurate legible manner including but not limited to: Incident Reports Non-Compliance Notification forms Rounds/Shift report Maintenance Request forms
- Transport and/or accompany residents to off-site activities including medical appointments educational/vocational and social events
- Facilitate group activities as assigned
- Participate in ongoing trainings relevant to supportive services for individuals experiencing homelessness mental illness substance use disorders co-occurring disorders.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed
- Provide kitchen support as needed including but not limited to: meal preparation & service for breakfast lunch and dinner; clean-up at end of meal service and comply with all food service & health codes
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director
- Supervise residents individually or in group activities including meals chores and visits with family/friends
- Verify that residents are accounted for and in compliance with program rules
- Attend all mandatory meetings and in-service trainings
- Provide crisis intervention as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director
Working Conditions:
Ability to walk stand bend squat climb kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to grasp push pull objects such as files file cabinet drawers and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer fax and telephone. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
This Position requires employee to Vaccinated from COVID-19 or have a religious or medical approved exemption.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Education or experience working with TAY individuals experiencing homelessness mental illness substance use disorders or co-occurring disorders preferred
- Must be TB cleared & provide documentation annually
- Maintain valid CPR/First Aid & Food Handler Certification
- Must have Class C Driver License
- Clean MVR and ability to drive & transport clients
Skills Knowledge & Abilities:
- Ability to carry out assignments independently maintain good rapport and communication with other co-workers clients and the public
- Excellent communication skills for interaction with TAY experiencing housing instability
- Strong work ethic ability to maintain confidentiality and conduct oneself professionally at all times
