ROLE SUMMARY
The US Commercial Division is committed to continuously evolving its go-to-market model to reflect the changing external environment our patient and customer needs and portfolio priorities in critical channels. In Primary Care these dynamics are especially important with a diverse portfolio spanning Internal Medicine Vaccines Antivirals and Migraine managed through large mainstream channels including Retail Pharmacy and Health Systems and access impacted by constant innovation within consumer health including online platforms changing sites of care and increasing access constraints.
This role leads the US Customer & Channels Group (CCG) a critical enabling platform serving all US Primary Care to deliver consistent channel and customer planning coordinated in-channel marketing and transformative patient solutions. CCG prioritizes activities that enhance effectiveness drive efficiency promote innovation and build deep customer and channel expertise by consolidating capabilities that benefit from cross-portfolio integration and consistent execution.
The US Customer and Channels Group Lead is accountable for developing consistent channel strategies marketing plans and service capabilities that reflect external customer needs balanced against the priorities of US Primary Care Franchises. This scope extends to leading channel strategy development in Primary Care for Retail (Retail Pharmacy and Online Pharmacy) Non-Retail channels (Health Systems Urgent Care and Long-Term Care) and Direct-to-Patient (DTP) inclusive of PfizerForAll.
This role is also accountable for leadership of integrated Patient Solutions across Primary Care encompassing Field Access and Reimbursement and Patient Support teams the associated budgets and brand integrations and consistency of affordability program delivery and consumer experience. Patient solutions is a group of 60 customer-facing and home office colleagues with expected continued growth as access controls and utilization management expand into Primary Care from Specialty categories.
Finally CCG hosts critical platform capabilities on behalf of all of Primary Care brands including Channel Access and Economics Healthcare Consumer Experience and Third-Party Partnerships COEs.
The Customer and Channel Group Lead reports directly to the US President Primary Care and is member of the US Primary Care Leadership Team.

Channel Strategy and Planning:
- Drive Retail Pharmacy Strategy for the US Primary Care portfolio reflecting differential priorities of the vaccines and IM/Antiviral/Migraine portfolios and external market dynamics
- Develop Retail Strategic Partnerships with Top-6 Retailers where appropriate elevating senior leadership relationships simplifying process and addressing balanced customer and Primary Care portfolio priorities working in close conjunction with Trade Account Directors
- Establish customer-level plans for each major Retail account reflecting Primary Care priorities working in close conjunction with Trade Account Directors
- Maintain Channel Expertise and insights on Retail Pharmacy and Online Pharmacy to support Primary Care Leadership and Franchises / Brands with strategic scenario management
- Drive above-brand Health Systems (MG/IDN) Strategy for Primary Care establishing clear prioritization of accounts and identifying aligned Health System and Pfizer objectives in Primary Care to maximize appropriate product adoption in those settings.
- Identify priority accounts and goals for strategic and brand-level partnerships coordinated closely with respective Account Management functions in the Customer Engagement Platform (CEP)
- Develop Health System customer insights analysis and opportunities centrally to inform Primary Care and Franchise Leadership decision-making.
- Maintain Long-Term Care strategy market landscape assessment account prioritization and coordinated customer-engagement plan with relevant brand and platform teams (emphasis on Vaccines)
- Maintain Urgent Care strategy market landscape assessment account prioritization and coordinated customer-engagement plan where relevant to Franchises (current focus on Antivirals)
Channel Marketing:
- Define and lead Retail Marketing Strategy across Primary Care reflecting Brand consumer and professional/pharmacy education goals
- Develop and mature an agile Retail marketing team supporting multiple brands efficiently under central channel marketing leadership working in close conjunction with Franchise consumer marketers and the Chief Marketing Office to develop segmentation value propositions materials for customer-facing teams consumer materials and retail media placement
- Retail resource allocation partnered with Brand teams to develop bottom-up revenue aligned investment plans for retail marketing spend and manage budget efficiently centrally across Primary Care
- Define and lead Health System Marketing Strategy across Primary Care reflecting Brand MG/IDN needs gaps in care and health system education goals
- Develop and mature an agile Health System and Non-Retail Channel (incl. LTC) marketing team supporting multiple brands efficiently under central channel marketing leadership working in close conjunction with Franchise HCP Consumer and Access marketing and the Chief Marketing Office to develop segmentation value propositions materials for customer-facing teams and where applicable consumer facing content for onward use by partners.
Patient Solutions:
- Strategic planning implementation and coordination of patient services needs across Primary Care inclusive of access & reimbursement support affordability programs advocacy and communications efforts focused on improving health outcomes and equitable access to care.
- Overall strategy development direction objectives measurement and accountability of brand-level patient reimbursement strategies and tactics for Primary Care
- Manage leadership of field-based access and reimbursement specialists (Field Access Leaders FALs) and virtual patient support roles (Patient Access Coordinators PACs) including resource allocation decision-making adaptation to changing brand market and customer-dynamics and maintaining strict adherence to compliance standards
- Work cross-functionally with partner Patient Solutions leads in Specialty Care and Oncology to coordinate US Commercial Patient Services strategy and identify common needs tools data and resource requirements to be delivered by enablement functions in US Market Access Pfizer Digital and the Chief Marketing Office.
Direct-to-Patient (DTP) Platforms and Innovation:
- Provide commercial leadership for all US Commercial divisions of the PfizerForAll DTP platform setting platform strategy managing budget allocation inclusive of product development and media / promotion and partnering closely with the Enterprise Brand team in the Chief Marketing Office to develop and extend the platform in service of Pfizer and patient needs
- Oversee cross-functional leadership of PfizerForAll acting as point of strategic and business escalation (alongside Enterprise Brand Lead) for the program.
- Identify collaboration opportunities with new and emerging DTP platforms beyond PfizerForAll ensuring breadth of patient reach for Primary Care and access to technology and consumer innovation including web app and connected device opportunities aligned to Franchise needs
Primary Care COEs:
- Maintain develop and grow capability in three areas critical to US Primary Care strategic delivery in the next 3-5 years including:
- Channel Access and Economics building deep expertise in the changing impact of US Policy on channel access barriers affordability and gross-to-net implications as well as economic incentives for all stakeholders within prioritized channels deployed to support brand planning scenario analytics and special projects
- Consumer Experience building deep expertise in connected consumer experience design across Primary Care reflecting outside-Pfizer patient journeys platform innovation and ensuring year-on-year improvements in consistency and quality of consumer experiences across Primary Care brand programs and in-channel delivery
- Third-Party Partnerships building unique expertise in identifying developing and contracting third-party partners to deliver brand goals and/or extend our patient or stakeholder reach including maintaining routine market scans capability shortlists contracting capacity and partner relationship management.
- Engage and inspire colleagues to generate commitment to the business deliverables and drives the creation of a culture required to support short- and long-term success.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelors degree required; MBA or advanced degree in a related field preferred
- A minimum 15 years of demonstrated experience. Experience in US Healthcare specific to employer and/or US market access preferred.
- Deep and consistently proven experience in US Established and Emerging Primary Care Channels ideally encompassing direct tenure at senior levels in consumer digital health providers directly or within peer pharmaceutical or healthcare providers with direct accountability for channel management e.g. in US Retail Pharmacy directly and/or US Primary Care with a proven track record in US Market Access Pricing and Reimbursement programs aligned to primary care product and service delivery.
- Senior-level experience of developing new channel engagement and partnership models with proven track record of standing up multiple engagements establishing enabling contracting and resourcing and pull through / execution via customer-facing and marketing medical teams.
- Senior-level experience with consumer healthcare management either directly via portfolio accountabilities or indirectly through consumer healthcare marketing or program responsibilities covering understanding of consumer goods promotion in-store and associated category management.
- Senior-level experience navigating the US Commercial payer landscape including the interface between large health plans employers as plan-sponsors and government managed channels and programs.
- Strategic planning evaluation and execution experience including managing across complex internal management matrices and cross-functional teams to align planning and operational accountabilities.
- Innovation mindset coupled with a proven track record of translating conceptual opportunities into concrete implementation and resulting programs yielding direct improvements for patients.
- Analytical thinker with the ability to organize process and act on dynamic information flows and communicate observed trends and insights to senior leaders to inform decision making and actions.
- Experienced team manager with pedigree for setting strong cultures of trust and collaboration and reputation for working well with adjacent peer and cross-organizational stakeholders.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $256100.00 to $426800.00.* In addition this position is eligible for participation in Pfizers Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 30.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
