Job Description

Opportunity

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Human Resources Administrator to support our Huntsville AL location.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Human Resources Administrator to join our Human Resources team. This part-time position provides an excellent opportunity to build on entry-level HR experience while supporting critical people operations across the organization. The successful candidate will play a key role in benefits administration policy management leave coordination internal communications and other duties as assigned. This is a temporary position with the possibility of reclassification to regular employment if business needs allow.

Duties:

  • Benefits Administration
    • Process employee enrollment changes and terminations in health dental vision and other benefit programs
    • Serve as a liaison between employees and benefit vendors
    • Assist employees with benefit questions and resolve issues in a timely manner
    • Maintain accurate benefits records
    • Support annual open enrollment process and assist with benefit communication campaigns
    • Reconcile enrollment records against monthly invoices and investigate and resolve discrepancies
    • Assist with internal audits to ensure compliance with plan and regulatory requirements
  • Policies and Procedures
    • Assist with policy research and development as business needs evolve
    • Draft policy revisions
    • Support policy training initiatives and documentation
  • Leave Administration
    • Process and track various types of leave including FMLA personal and medical
    • Coordinate with managers and employees on leave requests and approvals
    • Maintain leave records and ensure compliance with federal state and local regulations
    • Monitor leave utilization
    • Serve as a point of contact for leave-related questions and documentation
  • Corporate Communications
    • Draft internal communications including policy updates benefit announcements and informational bulletins
    • Support employee engagement initiatives and company events
    • Coordinate with leadership on HR-related messaging
  • General HR Support
    • Maintain employee files and ensure data accuracy in HRIS systems
    • Provide administrative support for HR projects and initiatives
    • Generate HR reports and metrics as needed
    • Support compliance activities and audits

Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience in HR benefits administration or related administrative role
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook)
  • Customer service orientation with ability to work with employees at all levels
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality
  • Ability to deal effectively and compassionately with people and use sound judgment in employee-related matters
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or related field

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with HR software
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations (FMLA ADA COBRA etc.)
  • Previous benefits administration experience
