About the role

Are you passionate about making a difference in peoples lives selectability is seeking a dedicated service navigator to join our team. In this role you will play a crucial part in connecting individuals with the mental health and community services they need. As a service navigator youll provide guidance and support to consumers helping them navigate available services and resources.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Support NDIS Access and Referrals: focus on assisting consumers with National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) access requests and managing referral pathways

Enhance Service Integration: work to improve the integration of local health services and make the health system more accessible for individuals with severe mental illness and associated psychosocial disorders

Customer Service: serve as the primary point of contact and deliver exceptional customer service for all mental health referral inquiries

Needs Assessment: conduct comprehensive assessments using a range of evidence-based tools and processes to ensure effective progression of referrals

Service Provider Support: provide necessary information and assistance to service providers regarding service availability

Inreach and Outreach Services: offer inreach and outreach support to connect consumers and carers with the necessary services and supports

Regional Information Resource: act as a key regional source of information on psychosocial resources

About you

To be considered for this rewarding role you will have great interpersonal skills and the ability work as part of a team.

To be successful you must:

  • experience in the mental health sector (highly desirable)
  • a working knowledge of the NDIS
  • a commitment to best practice
  • experience in stakeholder engagement (desirable)
  • strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
  • ability to quickly and effectively engage with consumers
  • the ability to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals
  • demonstrated ability to use databases and Microsoft Office Suite
  • the ability to analyse and translate information into practical consumer insights
  • most importantly a positive attitude!

Role Requirements

  • a Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (or the ability to obtain prior to commencing)
  • a current yellow card exemption or NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability or obtain prior to commencement)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Quality Safety & You completion certificate (or the ability or obtain prior to commencement)
  • a current minimum P1 C class Queensland drivers licence
  • roadworthy vehicle with comprehensive insurance

About the offer

The service navigator is a fulltime fixed term position until the end of June 2025 based in Townsville.
