Job Description
- Recruit eligible youth for Job Corps Program.
- Conduct outreach activities in communities agencies American Job Centers and public events.
- Responsible for meeting departmental and center goals and objectives.
- Conduct orientation and interview with applicants including parent in case of minors.
- Perform applicant files procedures (data entry scan documents on e- file).
- Participate in departmental meetings.
- Coordinate with centers to support applicants in travel arrangements.
- Perform Quality Assurance Checks on all applicant files.
- Assess graduates/former trainees placement readiness provide appropriate referrals and accompanying support services in accordance with DOL Center and Equus requirements.
- Ensures timely placement and retention of assigned graduates and former enrollees in quality jobs the military or further education and training opportunities.
- Promotes job development through direct contact with employers One-Stops JTPA and State Employment Agencies.
- Clearly communicates and consistently models appropriate CSS and employability skills.
- Maintains accountability of staff students and property.
- Adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibility.
- Fosters and sustains a conducive environment at the center ensuring it remains free from harassment intimidation and disrespect thereby ensuring a safe space for both staff and students to engage in work and learning.
- Attends all required staff training opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - above average public speaking skills and experience in same. A
- above average verbal and written skills.
- above average problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
- computer literacy; specifically Internet e-mail and Word Perfect/MS WORD.
- the ability to work some evening hours and periodic weekends.
- the ability to travel periodically.
- four years experience working with youths ages 16-24.
Education:
Bachelors Degree. 15 Semester hours of psychology is preferred.
