Job Purpose:
A strategic pillar of Smiths Detections Acceleration Program involves a significant investment in enhancing Service Master Data quality. The primary purpose of the Service Master Specialist role at Smiths Detection is to ensure the completeness accuracy and integrity of Service Master Data within the SAP system thereby acting as a data expert providing a crucial Data Management service to the SAP user community. This involves timely and accurate execution of master data changes according to agreed service levels and contributing to data quality and standards through activities such as policy creation process mapping data profiling and global alignment of data management efforts. The overarching goal is to treat data as a critical business asset and safeguard its quality.
Duties:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for business teams regarding master data-related inquiries and issues.
- Deep understanding of SAP modules related to Material/BOM Customer Vendor and Finance master data.
- Collaborate with service teams sales finance and other departments to resolve data-related issues.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications for master data changes.
- Identify opportunities to improve master data processes and workflows.
- Develop and document business requirements and process flows.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Prepare and present reports on master data performance and issues.
- Conduct business process analysis and identify areas for improvement.
- Problem-Solving and Root Cause Analysis: Ability to identify and resolve data-related issues and implement preventive measures.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather requirements and resolve issues.
- Adhoc project work as required

Qualifications :
Technical Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Diploma / Any Degree / Post-Graduation
Knowledge & Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in SAP Service Master modules
- Experience with SAP ERP or other enterprise-level master data management systems.
- Excel - Intermediate to Advanced level
- Deep understanding of master data concepts and best practices.
- Knowledge of data governance principles and methodologies would be advantageous.
- Experience in process mapping and business process analysis.
- Ability to think logically and technically to reach answers
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI Tableau) is a plus.
- Strong presentation data analytical interpersonal & communication skills
- Strong planning organisational skills and good time management
- Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and quality.
- Self-motivated able to set own goals and manage own workload in order to achieve them
- Team player encouraging the sharing and cross fertilisation of ideas and information
