Global Head FX Trading

At ING the Financial Markets division is essential to Wholesale Banking providing innovative solutions and strategic insights to help clients navigate global financial markets. This division offers a wide range of services including foreign exchange (FX) interest rates commodities and credit trading tailored to meet the needs of corporate institutional and government clients. By utilizing advanced technology and market expertise the Financial Markets team builds strong client relationships and delivers customized risk management strategies.

Over the past five years the Financial Markets division has seen a 60% increase in global revenues highlighting its adaptability to changing market conditions. Looking ahead there is a goal to achieve an additional 40% to 50% revenue growth in the next 5 to 7 years. This will be driven by expanding product capabilities enhancing client relationships and increasing regional presence in emerging markets.

To support these initiatives ING is investing in a significant upgrade of its systems infrastructure focusing on developing an advanced mostly in-house trading position management and risk management platform. This technological investment will streamline operations and enhance the divisions ability to seize market opportunities ensuring sustained success in a competitive landscape.

The Global Head of Forex Trading at ING will lead a diverse team responsible for the banks Forex trading operations generating approximately 500 million in revenue. This role requires a strategic leader to manage a team of 40 traders located in key financial hubs such as Singapore London and New York as well as emerging markets like Seoul Shanghai Taipei Manila Warsaw Bucharest Istanbul and Kiev.

The Forex trading team focuses on a range of products including spot transactions Forex swaps Non-Deliverable Forwards (NDFs) and Forex options. The Global Head will maintain and enhance product profitability while identifying new growth opportunities in the Forex market.

Effective leadership is essential for fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing among traders across regions. The Global Head will align the teams objectives with INGs broader financial markets strategy ensuring that Forex trading supports the overall growth of the Financial Markets division.

Utilizing extensive experience and market insights the Global Head will navigate the Forex landscape drive performance and strengthen INGs competitive position. Building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders will be key to expanding the client base and enhancing product offerings in line with the banks strategic goals.

Candidate Profile

Experience/Knowledge

Essential:

• Strong background in trading with a deep understanding of risk management practices and the ability to make informed trading decisions

• Track record of successfully managing trading revenues and achieving P&L targets in fast-paced environments

• Experience operating in a global context with the ability to navigate and understand the complexities of various regional markets

• Proven experience in leading and managing diverse teams fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture

• Detailed knowledge of linear and non-linear FX developed markets and emerging markets electronic and voice business

• Experience in complex stakeholder management

• Knowledge of regulatory requirement and their implementation and risk

Desirable:

• Leadership track record of managing international teams in a complex matrix global organisation

• Proven track record of steering and end-to-end organization
