Job Description
Description of Service Opportunity:
The CPS Summer Scholars program is a four week summer learning experience for current grade 5-7 students with demonstrated academic need.
The program will operate from 8:30-12:00 at The Putnam Avenue School from July 7 to August 1. The day is organized into a block schedule and studies will have Math ELA and enrichment periods each day. The student teacher ratio will be 1:12.
The CPS Summer Scholars Paraprofessional under the direction of the CPS Summer Scholars Principal Director of MTSS and Program Manager will be responsible for:
Collaborating with the classroom teacher to provide a fun safe theme-based summer learning experience that promotes high expectations for all students;
Supporting literacy and math instruction with teacher guidance using district provided curriculum (Fishtank Math Camp) and intervention materials;
Supporting classroom set-up clean up and maintaining the classroom environment;
Facilitating food service delivery and pick up;
Monitoring and supporting students during lunch recess and drop-off/pick-up;
Supporting students during local field trips and special events; and
Other duties as assigned.

MinimumRequirements:
CPS Summer Scholars paraprofessionals must have the ability to support students with a range of learning needs in multi-age classrooms. Associates degree or higher and experience working with children in urban environments strongly preferred. Priority will be given to regularly appointed paraprofessionals from Cambridge Public School District.
Length of Contract: June 1August 1 2025
Contract Amount:
JuneJune 2025: $25 per hour ($250 not to exceed 10 hours)
JulyAugust 2025: $25 per hour ($2500 not to exceed 100 hours)
Length of Contract:
July 1 2025 through August 1 2025
Contract Amount
Not to exceed $3500.00
Please note that your hourly rate is dependent upon your collective bargaining agreement or individual hourly rate. If you are a non-exemptemployee and have worked more than 40 hours a week you will be paid time and a half for any hours worked over 40 hours.
