Under minimal direction the Financial Analyst coordinates and monitors of various financial activities and procedures to effectively manage budgets programs and services. Together with the Budget Management team manages the administration and operation of the Annual Budget process Budget Priorities Policies & Strategies. Proficient in analyzing financial information and providing variance analysis and reports. Review financial material and make recommendations as appropriate. Generates and oversees various budget and financial reports and others as requested by senior management and leaderships.
Job Duties:
In charge of Budget Review and approving requests submitted through Pre-Purchasing Application (PPA System) for all funds.
Integral role tracking spending for Capital Improvements Program (CIP); includes creation of Projects in Peoplesoft.
Coordinate with Directors and Project Managers to complete all required documentations forms and templates for Capital Improvement Program (CIP) requests.
Identify and drive process improvements including the creation of standard and ad-hoc financial reports financial tools financial apps and financial excel dashboards
Produce monthly reports to directors which include key metrics financial results and variance reporting.
Be a backup support to Budget Management Director for all budget related items such Budget Transfer for All Funds Maintain Structure of Department Fund Accounts Budget Entry & Annual Budget.
Perform ad hoc reporting based on requests received from the senior and executive management teams.
Aid in annual budgeting and planning processes.
Other responsibilities and projects may be assigned based on department needs.

Experience:
Minimum five (5) years of financial analyst experience required.
Knowledge Skill & Abilities (KSAs):
Must possess excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
The ability to interact with staff at all levels.
Strong knowledge of personal computers and various software specifically Microsoft Office.
Must be a great team player and have ability to collaborate with team members as well as customers and vendors.
Strong problem solving analytical and transactional research skills.

Education:
Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting
Experience:
Previous work experience working in Government sector.
Knowledge Skill & Abilities (KSAs):
Experience with PeopleSoft dashboard creation software such as Power BI
Strong knowledge of financial analysis techniques
Data analytics skills
Basic understanding of accounting processes
