Job Overview
The Montana State Auditor Commissioner of Securities and Insurance (CSI) is responsible for the regulation of insurance companies under Title 33 Montana Code Annotated. The Financial Analysis Supervisor position is a supervisory level position accountable for professional administrative and supervisory work. In addition to the financial regulation of insurers the successful candidate will be responsible for directing and mentoring a team of financial analysts in financial regulation.

Qualifications and Job Duties
Perform annual and quarterly risk-focused analysis of traditional insurance companies and risk retention groups as assigned by the Chief Examiner in accordance with the NAICs Financial Analysis Handbook and NAIC accreditation program standards.
Train analysts in the risk-focused analysis process including the review of their annual and quarterly analysis work and providing constructive feedback and ongoing mentoring.
Responsible for ensuring all analysis work is completed timely according to NAIC standards or bureau policy.
Assist analysts in implementing regulatory decisions made by the Chief Examiner CSI Leadership or the CSI Legal Department.
Assist analysts in responding to information requests of contract examiners updating the insurer profile summary based on exam results and following up on examiner recommendations to the company.
Assist the Chief Examiner and mentor others in the review process of licensure applications of traditional insurers and risk retention groups including the promotion of Montana as a risk retention group domicile.
Oversee the annual internal audit of the CSI.
General employee development performance reviews and timecard approvals for financial analysts.
Participate in the customization of analysis and examination documentation software.
Participate in/Attend meetings of and trainings provided by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC). This will require some instate and out-of-state travel.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements
Bachelors degree in a relevant field of study such as accounting finance economics business administration etc.
Five (5) years of job-related experience.
Previous supervisory or managerial experience is preferred or in lieu the successful candidate must complete a supervisory training course within one year of hire.
Certified Public Accountants license (CPA) or Certified Financial Examiner certification (CFE) from the Society of Financial Examiners. Demonstrated intent to obtain the CFE certification may be considered in lieu of the CFE certification on a case-by-case basis.
