As a member of the Environmental Health & Safety Team the Regulatory Compliance Lead will ensure that the organization complies or operates in conformity with its outside regulatory and legal requirements as well as internal policies and bylaws. In addition will communicate and deliver the Health & Safety (EHS) practices policies and messages to all teams within the organization participating in and conducting safety audits and inspections employee safety observations and coaching and a hands-on training as needed. Ensure unsafe/non-compliant conditions are resolved in a timely and provide training assistance in safe & environmentally compliant work methods as prescribed by EHS policies to ensure employee customer and visitor safety.
Represent Brenntag Lubricants Safety Culture and foster a spirit of safety awareness and teamwork in everything we do.
Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations and laws.
Review operational practices create and enforce compliance plans and perform regulatory risk management.
Provide training in compliance practices and procedures
Monitor regulatory changes and developments in the regulatory environment.
Maintain operational readiness to receive and manage all claims from facilities (IE: injuries accidents spills) and guide employees and facility management through response.
Record incidents and compile statistics to identify and address trends
Administer company LMS training portal assign training and require training completion.
Develop training programs both for classroom and learning portal
Identify and develop safety compliance programs and procedures
Maintain and monitor/audit safety compliance programs and procedures
Prepare and provide safety meeting topic materials and MOHIs (Moments of high influence) for use by facility managers for safety meetings; present topics as requested by management
Perform site walk-through inspections to identify and correct hazards
Conduct observations (on and off site) of operational associates providing coaching in operational EHS issues
Inspect safety equipment and follow up on completion of safety (EHS) work orders (Racking fall protection eye wash & showers fire extinguishers PPE other)
Lead and/or participate inaccident/injury investigation and be able to provide or recommend remediation training as well as process/condition improvement recommendations
Support operation of electronic systems (Samsara Smart Drive Brenntag systems)
Develop effective working relationships with site management and employees to drive continuous improvement in safety performance
Preference will be given to candidates with bachelors degree in a related field and/or safety designation.
Previous experience in an environmental or safety environment would be preferred but not necessary.
Proficient with MS Office products including Word Excel and PowerPoint.
Welcoming and approachable demeaner.
Comfortable in communicating with executive management as well as small and large group interactions/training.
A flexible attitude excellent time management and proven organization skills with the ability to prioritize.
Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems.
Exceptional analytical investigative and organizational skills.
Ability to adapt to change in the workplace.
Position requires the ability to travel approximately 40% throughout New England and on occasion nationally.
