Who are we looking for

Are looking for a Bridge Lead Rail and Transit ready to join our growing Canadian Operations within the Transportation Group. In this role you would contribute to the success of large-scale projects and improve transportation infrastructure.

The Bridge and Transportation Group within GHD Canada works with Provincial Regional and local municipal agencies as well as select contracting partners on large-scale projects across the whole Transportation spectrum of highways roads and bridges. Our team provides full-service bridge engineering from project planning conceptual design lifecycle cost analysis load evaluation environmental assessment preliminary design detailed design construction administration/inspection and asset management support.

Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Successful participation in and completion of multi-disciplined bridge projects rail bridges and complex design of transit projects.
  • Providing technical leadership and mentorship to intermediate and junior staff
  • Collaboration in small and large teams. Leading the integration with other engineering disciplines engineers and design staff in the production of high-quality project deliverables
  • Production of conceptual design detailed design technical specifications cost and schedule estimating
  • Working within various procurement models and roles.
  • Preparation of reports and contract documents for review agencies clients and the public
  • Maintaining contact with sub-consultants municipalities utility companies and clients
  • Exposure to project planning development and monitoring of project schedules and budgets

What you will bring to the team:

  • Ontario . designation required.
  • 20 years of experience in design and engineering of bridge projects required.
  • Experience and understanding of conventional delivery and alternative delivery methodology.
  • Familiarity with the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC) Ontario design standards (i.e. OPSS) and client specific standards and requirements (i.e. MTO)
  • Metrolinx and AREMA experience
  • CN Rail CP Rail and MTO experience are considered an asset.
  • Experience in managing/mentoring or leading a group is considered an asset.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is considered an asset.
