ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the or Manager Finance Budget and Business Planning is responsible for overseeing the activities of the assigned Branches including budgeting business planning financial reporting performance tracking internal controls accounting and financial advice and support.

WHAT YOULL BE DOING

  • Coordinates the multi-year budgeting and business planning process for applicable branches
  • Coordinates the preparation of financial reports performance reports and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for internal and external financial reporting requirements for branches
  • Coordinates financial transactional accounting activities for applicable branch including bookkeeping accounts payable accounts receivable procurement support and corporate credit card administration
  • Coordinates financial and management reporting for applicable branches to support both internal and external reporting requirements
  • Coordinates and supports internal and external financial audits
  • Assists in the development and implementation of process and audit controls that effectively safeguard Regional assets.
  • Performs other duties as required to meet Divisional/Branch and Departmental objectives.

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR

  • Successful completion of a University Degree in Business Administration Economics or Finance or related field or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Successful completion of a professional accounting designation program and registration as a Certified Professional Accountant with the appropriate Ontario Association.
  • Minimum three (3) years senior financial experience in a large multi-divisional organization and minimum one (1) year of direct supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant program development applicable legislation and industry standards and current practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant Standards Acts and Regulations.
  • Specialized experience in financial planning and budgeting reporting analysis and forecasting as well as exposure to project management.
  • Sound knowledge of Regional Departments their functions and the Corporations procurement process and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Sound working knowledge of fund accounting.
  • Ability to demonstrate the Regions leadership and core competencies.
  • Demonstrated report writing analytical and project management skills to meet program objectives and work to tight deadlines.
