Job Description

The Cathedral School isseeking a permanent full-time Mathematics Teacher to commence in Term 3 2025. The successful applicant will be working in a vibrant department with a great team of professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply professional knowledge by understanding how students learn and tailoring your teaching to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Demonstrate strong content knowledge and use effective evidence-based strategies to teach mathematics in engaging and accessible ways.
  • Plan and implement effective teaching and learning programs that align with curriculum standards and foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Create and maintain supportive and safe learning environments where all students feel valued respected and motivated to succeed.
  • Assess provide feedback and report on student learning to guide progress and support individual growth.
  • Engage in ongoing professional learning to enhance your practice and stay current with educational developments.
  • Collaborate professionally with colleagues parents/carers and the wider school community to support student achievement and wellbeing.
  • Actively participate in professional and community networks and forums to broaden your knowledge and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

What Were Looking For

  • A qualified teacher with a degree in Mathematics or a related field.
  • Current teaching registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
  • Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and student success.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
  • Relevant expertise in teaching Years 7-12 Mathematics.
