Production Supervisor
Full-Time
Indianapolis IN
The Production Supervisor is responsible for directing the functions and activities of our manufacturing team. The Production Supervisor will develop strategies to achieve operational objectives for daily weekly and monthly objectives. Duties involve providing daily direction to the manufacturing team to ensure execution of the company business plan while simultaneously implementing Continuous Improvement initiatives that will deliver long-term benefits.
Production Supervisor Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily CNC manufacturing operations by ensuring safety and adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
- Utilize knowledge of CNC machining processes to optimize production techniques and workflows.
- Provide regular updates to management on production status challenges and opportunities for improvement.
- Lead and mentor a team of machinists and operators fostering a safe collaborative and productive work environment.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders with high intensity and professionals.
- Implement strategies to enhance productivity reduce waste and maintain cost-effective operations.
Production Supervisor Required Skills:
- Working knowledge of aerospace quality requirements.
- Ability to understand and apply production planning processes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations and priorities.
- Must be computer literate particularly in spreadsheet; production planning; and ERP applications.
- Demonstrated ability to develop execute and deliver results in conformance with action plans.
Production Supervisor Desired Skills:
- Highly organized self-motivated individual who can work independently as well as work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Technical competence: Experience with CNC machines of all axis and types; knowledge of CNC machining processes to optimize production techniques and workflows.
- Working knowledge of Six Sigma Statistical Process Control and structured problem-solving.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills in aerospace or automotive manufacturing environment; excellent verbal and written communication.
- Proven leadership in aerospace or automotive manufacturing operations.
Production Supervisor Experience & Education:
- Associates degree in Manufacturing Technology Engineering or a related field; Bachelors degree in technical field preferred.
- 5 years experience in a CNC machining environment with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Experience leading people and obtaining results through others.
- Proven record of accomplishment of driving results in an Assembly or machining environment (3 4 and 5 axis).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Firm commitment to safety and quality standards.
