What Youll Do:
As an Estimator you will review drawings and consult with internal departments to create estimates for projects to ensure complete accurate and timely processing. You will also review and confirm final pricing aligns to the project budget and business profit objectives.
Your Accountabilities in the Role:
- Reviews all quote requests artwork and specifications from the Sales and Art department to create a complete accurate and timely quote.
- Develops layouts for requested quotes to best determine how a job is to be run.
- Reviews the production process and enters all needed steps to ensure accurate internal budgeting and timelines can be determined.
- Identifies and enters any specific handling shipping and mark up costs that may apply to ensure accurate quotes are delivered to customers.
- Reviews and confirms the final pricing aligns to the budget of the project and business profit objectives.
- Coordinates with internal departments and relays important information to resolve issues and ensure products get completed on time and within budget.
- Forwards final quote to the department head for final review and approval.
- Creates Pre and Final Paperwork job instructions for Production to use when producing jobs.
- Conducts special studies to establish standard cost data etc. periodically to ensure accurate pricing.
Position Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Experience: 2 years of related experience in Project Quoting or Estimating in a Printing Construction or other related project-costing industry.
- Certification(s): N/A
- Functional Skills: This role requires solid planning organizational and execution skills to complete work accurately and on time. Solid math and analytical skills attention to detail and prioritization skills. Ability to review and understand blueprints to complete quotations. Ability to multi-task. Must have good judgment of color design and printing quality.
- Technology Aptitude/Skills: Average computer and technology skills. Illustrator or similar software experience is preferred.
- Language Skills: Solid written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present information effectively to others.
- Leadership/Behaviors: Strong communication and collaboration skills; able to be conceptual and logical to figure things out that are not specific; able to work independently to get things done.

Other Important Information:
Pay/Salary: Hourly position based on skills

Reports To: VP of Business Operations & Sales
Core Hours: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
Typical Work Week: M-F; 40 - 42 hours a week on average during peak times.
Direct Reports: None
Travel: Limited; less than 5%
Work/Environment: Normal office environment with occasional visits to manufacturing area. Requires good vision with ability to see colors.
