Museum Program Lead
Permanent Part-Time

The Town of New Tecumseth is looking for a Museum Program Lead to join our rapidly growing team.

Under the direction of and in co-operation with the Supervisor Culture the Museum Program Lead provides efficient and effective support services for all aspects of Museum Services including but not limited to planning and co-ordination of programs and events public relations marketing performing general clerical work and front of house museum work.

How you contribute to our organization:

  • Researches plans and co-ordinates museum related programs and events. Researches and develops programs and events recruits and co-ordinates work of volunteers as directed performs all marketing requirements for the programs/events procures supplies and equipment required sets up and takes down for programs and events liaises with schools and local organizations works with recreation software by entering programs and pulling reports delivers programs evaluates the programs on completion maintains accurate program records and expense accounts provides any other support as required
  • Assists with the supervision of volunteers and summer staff related to programs and events
  • Supports the Supervisor Culture in community development and community outreach initiatives.
  • Answers calls providing general information to internal and external public contacts.
  • Deals with complaints and problems of a minor nature with the public. Records and ensures that more complicated complaints and problems are forwarded to the appropriate person for resolution.
  • Ensures Supervisor Culture is apprised of any problems with respect to building maintenance.
  • Performs general clerical work. Researches material for special projects when required by the Supervisor Culture.
  • Responds to routine correspondence in a professional and timely manner.

What you bring to the team:

  • Requires successful completion of college level certificate in a related field such as Education Museum Studies or Recreation.
  • Requires Emergency First Aid with CPR-C
  • 1 2 years previous experience working with children required. Requires some experience developing and running programs. Previous experience working in a cultural institution is considered an asset.
  • High proficiency required in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Power Point)
  • Technical skills regarding program design presentation registration and current school curricula are required.
  • A basic understanding of policies and regulations governing the field of recreation in a Municipal setting would be useful.
  • Experience with Xplor Recreation Software

Salary: $29.18-34.33/hour plus 4% vacation pay and optional enrolment in OMERS pension plan
Hours: 5.5 hours per day Wednesday through Saturday 9:30 a.m. 3:30 p.m.
Location: Museum on the Boyne 250 Fletcher Crescent Alliston ON L9R 1M1
Start Date: June 25th 2025
