Prevention Services Program Manager

Location: 241 Greenhouse Road Lexington VA

This role is responsible for the ongoing development coordination and oversight of all agency prevention programs including grant management staff supervision and coalition leadership.

Position Description: The Prevention Services Program Manager is responsible for the ongoing development implementation and oversight of all agency prevention programs grants and services-including leadership of the Rockbridge Area Prevention Coalition. This role ensures the smooth operation of daily program activities and provides direct supervision to all prevention staff.

The Program Manager stays informed about current and emerging resources related to mental health and substance abuse (MH/SA) prevention early intervention and parenting education.

Serving as a key liaison the Prevention Services Program Manager represents RACS in collaboration with the Director of Behavioral Health and Prevention local school systems and community partners. The Program Manager works closely with agency staff school personnel and other stakeholders to research develop and submit grant proposals as well as fulfill required grant reporting in coordination with the Unit Director.

This position oversees the Rockbridge Area Prevention Coalitions activities associated grants and funding streams-ensuring that services align with the goals and objectives of the agencys annual Prevention Plan. The Program Manager also ensures compliance with reporting requirements including those managed through KIT Solutions.

Additional responsibilities include securing and analyzing data for program evaluation and assisting with the selection and procurement of program materials and curricula as needed.

The incumbent must demonstrate sound judgment strong supervisory skills initiative flexibility and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The role requires effective communication marketing and public relations skills and adherence to agency standards and policies. A high degree of confidentiality and professionalism is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee prevention programs staff and daily operations including the RAP Coalition.
  • Develop implement and evaluate evidence-based prevention strategies.
  • Collaborate with schools community partners and agency leadership.
  • Manage grants reporting and compliance (including KIT Solutions).
  • Supervise staff and support training professional development and team effectiveness.
  • Collect and analyze data for program evaluation.
  • Promote agency services through public relations outreach and community engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in a human services field preferred.
  • 5 years of experience working with youth/families; program and project management experience preferred.
  • Experience in personnel supervision and program administration required.
  • Strong knowledge of MH/SA prevention parenting education grant writing and community engagement.
  • Skilled in communication leadership planning and data-driven decision-making.
  • Must have a valid Virginia drivers license.

Probationary Period: All persons that are newly hired rehired transferred promoted or demoted into a Rockbridge Area Community Services position must serve a new 6-month probationary period.
