We are seeking applications for a Youth Worker to join our Young Mother & Baby Program program at Bendigo on a permanent part-time basis.
The purpose of this position is to provide a high standard of care to the residents of the St John of God Horizon House by empowering the young people to move to a position of autonomy and self-fulfillment by assisting them to achieve their goals. You will also encourage and facilitate the involvement of the residents in education training and personal development programs.
The Position
Build strong trusting relationships with young people placing their interests and well-being at the forefront of all interactions.
Provide safe and stable long term accommodation to a young people who are at risk of being homelessness creating an environment that promotes growth and development
Offer outreach strengths based and practical support to meet the continuum of care arrangements for young people with complex needs.
Assist young people in realising their aspirations and potential through participating in education training and employment services.
Assist in case management and planning for young people
Support young people in developing independent living skills
You will have an understanding of the special needs of adolescents and trauma-informed care together with recent experience working with at-risk young people extensive experience in an area related to youth work and knowledge of the Privacy Legislation and Occupational Health & Safety Act Regulations.
Successful applicants will hold a Certificate IV in Youth Work or similar States Drivers Licence First Aid Certificate and Working with Children Card.

We can offer you
Salary: $74031 to $79388 (pro rata for part time) plus 11.5% Superannuation
Permanent part-time working 29.5 hours per week
This role will include shift work and sleepover shifts
Salary packaging up to $18550 on a range of benefits such as mortgage rent meal entertainment holiday accommodation or other everyday living expenses as well as options to salary package benefits above the FBT cap on items such as:
