The Assistant Boys Cross Country Coach will work to ensure safety skill development and progress of each player during the season. The coach will plan organize and implement a structured set of workouts/practices as well as monitoring and support of academic development of the student/athletes. The head coach reports directly to the Head Coach Athletic Director and building position requires: MIAA Coaches Certification Prior Playing and Coaching Experience addition all Coaches are expected to: Organize players for pre-season and post-season meetings. Maintain good relations with parents officials volunteers and fans. Effectively communicate and work with students administrators staff parents and the community. Have a thorough knowledge of the athletic policy at Billerica Public Schools. Be a positive role model and motivator exhibit qualities of leadership and organizational ability. Communicate with athletic trainer concerning injuries and student playing status Monitor and support student-athletes academic progress. Work collaboratively with the booster program. Be Certified in or willing to obtain certification for the following: NFHS Course - Fundamental of Coaching NFHS Course Concussion Education 51 A Mandated Reporter Training First Aid and CPR/AEDCoaching positions may qualify for contributions in the Massachusetts Teachers Retirement System (MTRS) if a coach has current/prior experience working in a school district. Coaches new to the district will need to inform our payroll department if he/she should be contributing to the MTRS. Otherwise he/she would contribute to OBRA.
