Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on detail-oriented Controller to lead our accounting function and serve as a strategic financial partner to senior leadership. This role is ideal for a professional who combines tactical execution with high-level financial insight and leadership. The Controller will oversee all aspects of accounting financial reporting budgeting and compliance while playing a critical role in driving operational and strategic decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage general ledger accounts payable/receivable payroll and reconciliations
- Lead month-end close and deliver timely GAAP-compliant financial statements
- Monitor daily cash flow and maintain a healthy liquidity position
- Develop and enforce internal controls and financial policies
- Lead budgeting forecasting and variance analysis
- Provide financial analysis and insights to executive leadership and board
- Supervise and develop a small accounting team
- Oversee compliance audit coordination and tax/loan obligations
- Partner with operations and supply chain to monitor margins and inventory
- Utilize ERP systems for data analysis and process improvement
- Manage payroll execution and support HR benefits administration
- Contribute to cross-functional initiatives system upgrades and strategic projects
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA preferred but not required
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience
- Experience in manufacturing or distribution is a plus
- Strong understanding of GAAP internal controls and financial reporting
- Proficiency in ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics GP preferred)
- Excellent communication leadership and analytical skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Collaborative mindset with hands-on leadership style
