Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee a Junior High School Volleyball Program.
- Develop and train student-athletes toplay Volleyball.
- Motivate mentor and have a passion for develping student-athletes on and off the Court.
- Develop an effective training program.
- Instruct and guide student-athletes in fundamental skills strategies and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree ofindividualand team success.
- Instruct and guide student-athletes to lead them to the formulation and enhancement of moral values pride of accomplishments acceptable social behavior self-discipline and self-confidence.
- Foster teamwork and sportsmanship.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of student-athletes.
- Cooperatein a timely manner with School Athletic Director and the District Athletic Department in regard to requests for pertinent information that might be required periodically.
- Meetall therequirements mandated by the District Board of Education The Ohio High School Athletic Assn. (OHSAA) and the Ohio Department of Education (ODE)relative tomandated coaching requirements (Coaches Tool Chest (CTC) Training/Certification and Pupil Activity Permit (PAP).
- Check the status of academic eligibility for all prospective student-athletes.
- Follow the District Athletic Department Policies as outlined in the Coaches Handbook and meet all criteria as outlined in the job description.
- Model the behavior expected of student-athletes including timeliness to practices and games being positive and enthusiastic being respectful and practicing constructive criticism while upholding the disciplines of the program.
- Maintain a suitable sideline conduct including the use ofappropriatelanguage at all times.
- Recognize the needto beaware of andimplement all applicable administrative policies set forth by the District Board of Education Superintendents of Schools School Principals Conference Leagues ODE andOHSAA.
- Provide all applicable in-season training rules as well as any that may apply to out-of-season.
- Followappropriatedue processprocedureswhen violations occur.
- Participate in School events (i.e. Pep Assemblies Awards Night Athletic Boosters Meeting etc.
- Ensure that teams are wellpreparedfor opponents.
- Maintainaccurateinventory of equipment and supplies.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Fundraising experience.
- Strong leadership.
- Must be passionate and dedicated to inspire student-athletes.
- Previous coaching experience required.
- Serve as a role model.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills associated with the sport.
Training/Certifications:
- Ohio Secondary Teaching Certificate preferred.
- Evidence of successful past coaching experience required.
- Provide satisfactory result of County Police Records Check StateBCIICheck and a Fingerprint Background Check.
- Possessan OhioDepartment of Education (ODE) Pupil Activity Permit (PAP).
- Provide satisfactory proof of completion of Coaches Tool Chest (CTC) Training/Certification.
