Job Description

Summary

King County Metro Transit is seeking a seasoned Facilities and Fixed Assets Program Manager (Project/Program Manager III) to join the Capital Division team in an exciting new opportunity. This pivotal role is responsible for strategically planning and managing critical assets including buildings docks and infrastructure that support Metro Transits mission of delivering reliable and efficient transportation services.

As a key leader in this high-impact role you will shape infrastructure that directly influences the daily experiences of both operational employees and customers. Working as part of a dynamic team of program managers you will collaborate closely with the Facilities Program lead while overseeing the alignment of Metro Transits Contracted Services and Marine programs and projects with organizational goals and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate on planning and coordinating existing transit bases support facilities and Marine facilities/equipment.
  • Contribute to the development of integrated long-range strategic plans for facilities and fixed assets.
  • Partner with other lines of business to identify current and future facility needs driven by operational and staffing changes.

About the King County Water Taxi supported by the Marine Division

The King County Water Taxi is a passenger-only ferry with two routes on the Puget Sound with approximately 48 daily sailings. Over 16 years the King County Water Taxi System has grown to become a vital part of the regional transportation system. With a focus on the future of reducing emissions produced by the water taxi and its facilities the Marine program is an exciting opportunity to support planning for the future.


About Contracted Services supported by the Contracted Services Program

This program is focused on development of Operational Facilities to support Contracted Services Mobility Services. Contracted services are part of Metros core business with services managed by a combination of Metro staff and third-party vendors offering King County commuters specialized Mobility Services and Access Paratransit. This program informs the development of new facility projects the modification of existing facilities and the lease or acquisition of properties to align with Metro Transits projected growth needs. The Contracted Services program is an exciting opportunity to support industry leading accessible services.

Mobility Servicesprovides a wide range of successful existing and innovative pilot programs to enhance mobility for the general community as well as special-needs communities such as Vanpool DART Metro Flex Community Access Transportation and Community Van.

Access Paratransitprovides paratransit services for individuals who are not able to use the fixed-route system as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act. The group manages the Disabilities Act certification process for Access riders and provides necessary customer service to ensure equitable access to our services. The group also focuses on long-term strategic planning technology and performance management of the program; and is responsible for the management of the Access Paratransit contract.


Recruitment Information:

This recruitment will be used to fill 1 Career Service vacancy. In addition this selection process may be used to generate an eligibility pool for future Career Service vacancies that may occur in this classification within the Capital Division. The eligibility pool will be retained for 12 months from the date of posting and may be extended or used at the discretion of the hiring authority.

Work Schedule:

Our regular business hours are 40 hours per week Monday through Friday. However work outside of these hours may occasionally be required. This position is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and therefore is not eligible for overtime pay. We may also consider flexible hours.


Work Location:

The main work site associated with these positions is King Street Center 201 S. Jackson St Seattle WA 98104.


Telecommuting Requirement:

This is a hybrid role requiring a combination of remote and onsite work at various King County facilities. Employees are expected to work onsite at least one day per week though this requirement may be subject to change. A County-issued laptop will be provided and employees must maintain a dedicated workspace with reliable internet access to perform their duties efficiently and remain accessible during scheduled work hours.

Employees must reside in WA state and within a reasonable distance of their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements. There will be situations where the employee is required to report to a county worksite.
