Job Description


Our client is a group of companies in Nigeria. Due to expansion they need a Supply & Trading Manager will lead and oversee all crude oil and refined product supply and trading activities. The role is pivotal in ensuring costeffective reliable supply to meet the companys operational needs while maximizing trading margins and managing market risks.


Location: Lagos.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute trading strategies for crude oil and refined products (e.g. PMS AGO DPK LPG).
  • Identify and negotiate purchase and sales contracts with local and international suppliers traders and counterparties.
  • Monitor market trends pricing and geopolitical developments to optimize trading opportunities.
  • Ensure timely and costefficient product importation and distribution to terminals and end customers.
  • Coordinate with logistics terminal and finance teams to ensure smooth operations and cash flow alignment.
  • Manage relationships with regulatory bodies customs authorities and maritime agencies.
  • Oversee inventory planning supply scheduling and blending operations as required.
  • Maintain robust risk management practices including hedging credit exposure and compliance controls.
  • Prepare periodic performance reports P&L analysis and market intelligence briefs.
  • Lead and mentor the supply & trading team to ensure skill development and performance excellence.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree in Engineering Finance Business or related field. MBA or professional certification (e.g. CFA ICAN PMP) is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 7 10 years experience in oil & gas supply trading or commercial operations (preferably in downstream).
  • Strong knowledge of trading platforms pricing indexes (Platts Argus) and market dynamics.
  • Excellent negotiation analytical and decisionmaking skills.
  • Strong understanding of shipping storage and terminal operations.
  • Proven track record in managing P&L and commercial risk.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
