Duties and Responsibilities:
- Installing configuring and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers across development testing and production environments.
- Performing system upgrades patch management and security hardening to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
- Implementing automation scripts using Ansible Bash or Python to streamline system administration tasks.
- Configuring and maintaining Red Hat Satellite Identity Management (IdM) and other Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) ecosystem tools.
- Collaborating with security teams to ensure systems are protected against vulnerabilities and comply with security policies.
- Maintaining and optimizing storage backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Supporting application teams by providing guidance on best practices for Linuxbased deployments.
- Maintaining documentation for system configurations procedures and troubleshooting guides.
- Participating in oncall support and incident resolution activities as required.
- Setup Network File Server (NFS) and mount points.
- Configuring Chron jobs for both systems and applications.
Experience with:
- Working in a complex networked system environment with strong networking.
- Administering Unix (AIX) IBM p Series systems.
- Administering systems including but not limited to the applications below:
- Oracle WebLogic Servers
- Oracle Database Servers
- Progress 4GL/Database Servers/Open Edge
- Apache Web Servers
- vSphere hosted RHEL Servers.
- Rubrik backup systems.
- Oracle Database backups.
- PeopleSoft
- Mobius
- Elastic Search
- Oracle OBI
- CVS (Concurrent Version System)
- Red Hat performance tuning.
- Load balancing partitioning backup/recovery and disaster recovery.
- Working in an environment that requires 24/7 system availability.
- Application development.
- Red Hat Support.
- Electronic Imaging Support.
Ability to:
- Work in a team environment.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external personnel.
- Demonstrate leadership skills.
- Interface with users and helpdesk for daytoday support.
- Provide backup /recovery and networking methodologies.
- (Troubleshoot at the Operating System (OS) database and application levels.
Knowledge of:
- Red Hat administration including configuration and tuning.
Required Qualification:
- Bachelor s degree or postgraduate degree in engineering computer science or related field.
- Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).
- The certification must be issued by Red Hat.
- The certification may be either current or noncurrent provided that the certification ID is supplied and in valid status for the proposed resource.
Candidate to have the following qualifications:
- Ten (10) or more years of experience as a Red Hat system administrator.
- Ten (10) or more years of experience administering Unix (AIX) IBM p Series systems.
- Fifteen (15) or more years of experience in the Information Technology (IT) field.
