Job Description
- Lead and manage all aspects of machine shop operations
- Plan direct and execute production schedules
- Create and manage weekly production schedules monitor daily output and ensure on time delivery
- Oversee the purchasing of materials tooling and consumables
- Manage inventory levels using Excel and ERP systems
- Maintain OSHA compliance and promote a safe work environment through 5S principles
- Perform first piece inspections and ensure all work meets required quality standards
- Address customer technical inquiries and quality concerns
- Drive process improvements implement lean practices
- Develop implement and maintain programs and SOPs to ensure consistency and efficiency
- Write and assist with CNC machine programs to ensure efficient and accurate operations ( Mazak and Okuma experience a plus )
- Lead train and mentor employees. Manage performance provide feedback and coordinate training programs
- Collaborate with customers on technical inquiries provide delivery quotes and ensure satisfaction
- Provide labor estimates for RFQs manage departmental budgets and track KPIs
Requirements
- Associates Degree in Manufacturing Engineering Industrial Engineering or related field preferred
- Minimum 10 years of machine shop supervisory experience
- Must have machine shop background
- Must be able to be hands on as needed
- Must have a positive attitude be a team player
- CNC machine programming experience required ( Mazak preferred )
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
- Experience with tooling and fixture design
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office ( Excel Word )
- ERP system experience preferred
- Strong leadership communication and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices and implementation
- Experience with 5S and OSHA standards
- Experience developing and implementing programs and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
