Job Description

Machine Shop Operations Manager

Montgomery County PA

Annual Salary: $90000 $125000 ( Based on experience )



Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of machine shop operations
  • Plan direct and execute production schedules
  • Create and manage weekly production schedules monitor daily output and ensure on time delivery
  • Oversee the purchasing of materials tooling and consumables
  • Manage inventory levels using Excel and ERP systems
  • Maintain OSHA compliance and promote a safe work environment through 5S principles
  • Perform first piece inspections and ensure all work meets required quality standards
  • Address customer technical inquiries and quality concerns
  • Drive process improvements implement lean practices
  • Develop implement and maintain programs and SOPs to ensure consistency and efficiency
  • Write and assist with CNC machine programs to ensure efficient and accurate operations ( Mazak and Okuma experience a plus )
  • Lead train and mentor employees. Manage performance provide feedback and coordinate training programs
  • Collaborate with customers on technical inquiries provide delivery quotes and ensure satisfaction
  • Provide labor estimates for RFQs manage departmental budgets and track KPIs


Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Manufacturing Engineering Industrial Engineering or related field preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of machine shop supervisory experience
  • Must have machine shop background
  • Must be able to be hands on as needed
  • Must have a positive attitude be a team player
  • CNC machine programming experience required ( Mazak preferred )
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
  • Experience with tooling and fixture design
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office ( Excel Word )
  • ERP system experience preferred
  • Strong leadership communication and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices and implementation
  • Experience with 5S and OSHA standards
  • Experience developing and implementing programs and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
