Job Description

Our client is a group of companies in Nigeria. Due to expansion they are in need of a Quantity Surveyor Manager

Job Summary

The Quantity Surveyor Manager will oversee all aspects of cost management contract administration and procurement for the company downstream oil and gas projects. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in quantity surveying within the petroleum industry ensuring that all projects are delivered on time within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage project budgets perform cost forecasting and ensure cost control throughout project lifecycles.
  • Prepare review and negotiate contracts with suppliers contractors and subcontractors ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Lead the procurement process for materials and services ensuring timely delivery and cost effectiveness.
  • Conduct feasibility studies risk assessments and value engineering to optimize project outcomes.
  • Work closely with project managers engineers and other stakeholders to align project objectives and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Prepare detailed reports on project progress cost analysis and financial performance for senior management.
  • Ensure all projects comply with local and international regulations including health safety and environmental standards.

Job Requirement
  • Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying Civil Engineering or a related field. A Masters degree or professional certifications (e.g. MRICS NIQS) are advantageous.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in quantity surveying with at least 5 years in a managerial role within the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong analytical skills proficiency in cost estimation software excellent negotiation abilities and a deep understanding of contract law and construction methodologies.
