General Description:
Teach content and skills in 68th grade English language literature composition and reading using standardsbased curriculum guidelines from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education that correlate with appropriate learning activities and district standards.
Adapt district curriculum materials and methods to develop relevant sequential assignments that guide and challenge students.

Curriculum Planning and Assessment

- Utilizes lesson plans and units of instruction aligned with current state and district standards which drives instruction through formative assessment and differentiation.
- Utilizes a variety of effective instructional and management techniques.
- Provides a variety of assessments and uses assessments for planning and instruction
- Provides consistent immediate feedback to student learning and asks analytical questions that elicit students responses that incorporate prior knowledge life experience and interests that are directly related to the content objective.

Qualifications Required:
- Education: Hold a Bachelors degree.
- Hold a valid Massachusetts Teaching License in English at the appropriate grade level AND either SEI endorsement OR dual certification in ESL.
- Meet all state and federal guidelines in order to be fully licensed and Highly Qualified.
- Ability to meet the Standards of Effective Teaching established by the Massachusetts Model System for Educators as outlined above.
- Current authorization to work in the United States Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment.
Preferred:
- Degree in English or related field.
- In order to best serve all students We prefer all core content teachers to be certified in their subject area and one or both of the following: Moderate Disabilities English as a Second Language (at the appropriate grade level(s).
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to sit stand walk talk hear operate a computer handheld learning devices and other office equipment reach with hands and arms and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
