Job Description

Assistant Director of Development & Tax Credit Manager

The Assistant Director of Development & Tax Credit Manager supports the overall fundraising strategy by managing donor stewardship activities overseeing the administrative functions of the Pennsylvania tax credit programs (EITC/OSTC) and helping coordinate donor communications. This role also provides support for central and schoolbased events and assists with the processing and acknowledgment of noncash gifts such as gifts of stock IRAs and donoradvised funds. The position also serves as the primary liaison to scholarship organizations for tax creditrelated initiatives. The Assistant Director reports to the Executive Director of Advancement and is hybrid position.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the coordination of stewardship communications including: thankyou letters for annual major and principallevel gifts; student thankyou note and phone call campaigns; and customized donor impact updates.
  • Maintain accurate tracking of stewardship touchpoints and donor preferences in the database.
  • Assist with the acknowledgment and processing of noncash gifts (e.g. gifts of stock IRA distributions donoradvised funds) working closely with the Finance team to ensure proper documentation.
  • Manage the administrative functions of the tax credit program and serve as the primary liaison to BLOCS and other tax credit partners.
  • Monitor incoming tax credit gifts and maintain accurate reporting.
  • Provide planning and execution support for donor and stewardship events hosted by the Advancement team.
  • Serve as a resource for schools hosting donor cultivation or stewardship events ensuring alignment with IMS messaging and standards.
  • Coordinate eventrelated communications and followup as needed.
  • Manage logistics and timelines for the IMS donor newsletter including story coordination writing/editing support and production.
  • Support the development of a biannual newsletter and other donorfacing publications as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure communications reflect IMSs mission values and brand.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • 35 years of experience in fundraising donor relations or nonprofit development.
  • Familiarity with tax credit programs and noncash giving vehicles strongly preferred.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with an attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working across teams and with external partners and donors.
  • Experience with donor databases (e.g. Raisers Edge Salesforce) preferred.
  • Passion for Catholic education and a commitment to advancing education.
