ABOUT THE POSITION

The Credit Reporting Manager leads the Credit Unions credit bureau reporting and consumer dispute resolution process. The manager ensures full compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) Metro 2 guidelines and internal data integrity standards. The Credit Reporting Manager will ensure the accuracy of data reported to the credit bureaus make certain that all consumer dispute investigations consumer are handled in a timely and compliant manner and manage risk associated with credit data furnishing.


NORMAL DAY-TO-DAY WORK

  1. Oversee the end-to-end credit reporting lifecycle across all business lines ensuring accuracy completeness and timeliness.
  2. Lead a team of analysts responsible for credit data integrity reporting and disputes
  3. Oversee the intake investigation and resolution of consumer disputes via e-OSCAR and direct channels.
  4. Manage the end-to-end dispute process including timely investigation and response to ACDVs and AUDs through e-OSCAR.
  5. Maintain compliance with FCRA/FACTA CFPB regulations and industry best practices.
  6. Maintain policies and procedures for credit reporting and dispute resolution and update as needed.
  7. Conduct regular reviews and data quality checks to prevent and identify potential errors and apply corrective actions before submission to the credit bureaus.
  8. Serve as primary point of contact for credit bureau relationships and regulatory audits related to credit reporting.
  9. Act as a liaison with the Credit Unions Risk and Compliance department regarding escalated disputes specifically those related to fraud.
  10. Train and develop credit reporting staff on compliance standards and dispute management procedures.
  11. Monitor changes in credit reporting laws and implement process updates as needed.
  12. Display integrity self-awareness courage and respect for staff while ensuring learning agility and flexibility communicating and delegating effectively. Work effectively collaboratively and creatively in a team-oriented environment both internally and externally.
  13. Take ownership for actions decisions and results; openly accept feedback and demonstrate both the willingness and ability to improve.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Here are a few skills you MUST have to be qualified for this position.

  1. 7 9 years of experience in credit bureau reporting and dispute management including 1 3 years of management experience.
  2. Strong knowledge of FCRA/FACTA Metro 2 reporting standards and e-OSCAR.
  3. Familiarity with credit bureau systems.
  4. Experience with loan servicing or core banking systems.
  5. Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills.
  6. Excellent verbal written telephone and interpersonal communication skills.
  7. Must possess a strong service orientation.
  8. Ability to function in a Consumer business office environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: PC copier telephone etc.
  9. Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. (file boxes computer).
  10. Travel required on occasion.

  1. Bachelors degree in Business Finance or related field (or equivalent experience).
  2. CDIA FCRA Credit Reporting Compliance Certification
  3. Certified Credit Union Compliance Expert (CUCE) or National Certified Compliance Officer (NCCO) designation.
