Job Description

About the Role:

Are you passionate about sport and entertainment Fuse is seeking a talented PR professional to work on key sports projects in our current client portfolio. This presents an exciting opportunity to deliver bestinclass PR campaigns for major brands leading a brilliant team of communications specialists who consistently produce awardwinning work for their clients.

Main daytoday responsibilities include:

Senior client management:

  • Hold ultimate responsibility for our clients PR campaigns from strategy to execution
  • Owning conversations with senior clients throughout PR campaigns
  • Have sensitive conversations with clients if briefs arent clear to set the team up for success

Strategic thinking:

  • Create PR strategies that maximise newsworthiness and minimise reputational risk
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of how to apply consumer insights to PR strategies
  • Lead creative PR brainstorms and produce original creative thinking for PR campaigns
  • Effectively articulate creative PR ideas on paper to sell to clients
  • Effectively pitch creative PR ideas to clients to unlock budget

Coverage generation:

  • Lead conversations with senior journalists and editors to generate positive PR coverage
  • Hold ultimate responsibility for the delivery of crisis comms and issues management
  • Adapt reactive statements in realtime checking and challenging clients and rights holders

Talent and ambassadors:

  • Draft Heads of Terms documents for talent/ambassadors
  • Work effectively with agents in all PR project phases from negotiation to project delivery
  • Effectively manage and resolve conflict situations with talent and agents where required

New business and divisional growth:

  • Upsell PR services to Group Directors and client leads to drive new business growth
  • Identify netnew opportunities to sell PR services to sponsorship clients
  • Sell our PR credentials clearly and effectively to senior client leads

Collaboration:

  • Work effectively in crossagency environments ensuring work remains suitable for PR
  • Collaborate with wider Fuse services to create and deliver integrated campaign responses
  • Hold ultimate responsibility for all legal and Health & Safety compliance at PR activations

Commercial acumen:

  • Hold ultimate responsibility for campaign budgets (Fuse fee and thirdparty costs)
  • Accurately scope and cost projects against client briefs
  • Hold ultimate responsibility for ensuring the team completes time sheets
  • Manage overservicing and find solutions for inefficiencies in the team
  • Contribute effectively to the annual revenue target for the PR Division

Desired skills & experience

Youll possess an indepth understanding of the sports PR and media landscape with an impressive book of journalist contacts. Youll have significant experience developing communications strategies that have driven positive brand exposure for clients. Youll have worked extensively with influencers and creators. Youll have experience developing bestinclass PRready video and still assets.

Youll have strong people and project management skills and excellent attention to detail. Youll be a confident writer with the ability to communicate coherently on paper.

Youll be comfortable and effective in conflict scenarios with an ability to find resolutions that serve both the agency and our clients. Youll be able to motivate the team around you while ensuring they meet the high standards we collectively set as a team.

You will have demonstrable experience working either at a PR and communications agency (applicants from nonsport PR agencies are welcome) inhouse at a sports media outlet at a sports team press office or a sports rights holder.

  • Relevant experience in PR communications and media
  • Proven track record in sellingin PR campaigns that drive positive brand coverage
  • Versatile personality with strong communication skills
  • Have been exposed to working with sports talent influencers and/or brand ambassadors
  • Experience managing client relationships and fielding daytoday client needs
  • Strong book of media contacts across broadcast print and digital media
  • Excellent attention to detail with theability to multitask & work at apace
  • Experience in managing budgets and financial processes

You need to have an ability & willingness to work flexibly usually in the London office with occasional UK travel on site at events and some weekend work. This is a fulltime role & you must be eligible to work in the UK.
