Job Description
POSITION: Reading Interventionist
SCHOOLS: Kittredge and Becket Washington Elementary Schools
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Masters Degree and valid MA DESE Licensure:Reading Specialist All Levels.
- Strong knowledge of researchbased literacy practices.
- Excellent communication collaboration and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of languagebased programs preferred.
DUTIES:
- Works closely with staff to implement best practices aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks the science of reading and the Wit & Wisdom curriculum.
- Creates and delivers targeted reading instruction to students (K5) and supports intervention efforts including progress monitoring.
- Effectively collaborates with teachers through coaching modeling coteaching and professional development.
- Leads literacy initiatives supports curriculum development and helps analyze assessment data to improve instruction.
- Supports district and school literacy goals including family literacy engagement.
- Works to foster relationships with related service providers paraprofessionals and classroom teachers.
REPORTS TO: Principal
SALARY: In accordance teachers contract
