    GENERAL SUMMARY
    The Associate Administrator is responsible for student attendance athletics classified staff and handling student discipline problems. Preferred candidates will have a range of experience in grades 912 and demonstrated knowledge of effective practices used to reach the needs of all students with particular expertise in improving instruction and student achievement.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    1. Supports principal in building management student discipline and parent communication.
    2. Assists the principal and staff in the efficient handling of the daytoday building operations.
    3. Serves as a liaison in planning communicating and coordinating a variety of building activities and/or programs.
    4. Act as primary evaluator for classified and athletics staff within the school.
    5. Provides leadership and support in creating a safe school environment that is conducive to learning.
    6. Serves as a referral source for disciplinary problems. Evaluates the nature of the problem and initiates corrective actions or refers the problem to the appropriate authority.
    7. Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.
    8. Reviews attendance reports to identify absenteeism problems and truancies. Counsels with students teachers other administrators and parents to identify clarify and understand attendance problems and assists with determining satisfactory solutions.
    9. Conducts a variety of committee meetings and attends selected school and community activities both during and after school.
    10. Assists in identifying district and community resources for school programs.
    11. Works collaboratively with principal and staff to implement the School Improvement Plan including professional development.
    12. Develops and maintains effective professional relationships with staff students and community.
    13. Demonstrates understanding of and models a variety of appropriate strategies in effectively interacting with staff students and parents. Uses effective creative approaches to resolving conflict situations.
    14. Work in close collaboration with the Principal lead and facilitate buildinglevel professional development focused on student learning; communicate on professional development activities.
    15. Provide mentoring support for new teachers.
    16. Assist in facilitating the schools early intervention services (i.e.. grade level teams PLCs RTI etc) to support students in receiving targeted academic support.
    17. Support principal in the analysis of student performance data.
    18. Participate in district training and principal academies.
    19. Perform appropriate tasks as designated by the Principal in relation to the responsibilities listed above.
    20. Evaluation of teachers as assigned. Training will be provided.

    OTHER FUNCTIONS

    21. Assume full responsibility for conducting an interscholastic athletic programs Scheduling event management tickets security coaches evaluations hiring and assignment of coaches professional development of coaches Title IX compliance transportation building facility management purchasing equipment monitoring ASB budgets and inventory attend league meetings and administrative support of the total program.
    22. Evaluation of all coaches.
    23. Student & Coach Data Clearance of all studentathletes and monitoring coaches compliance of WIAA district and building policies while maintaining records according to state law.
    24. Incorporate the athletic program into the total educational program for the district.
    25. Oversee and monitor programs such as the student ASB program clubs and activities.
    26. Assume responsibility for the building safety Scheduling of the campus safety staff evaluation of campus safety implementation of district safety policy and procedure safety protocol professional develop for athletic coaches building staff and campus safety.
    27. Coordinate all athletic events and their involvement as pertaining to WIAA and league affiliation. Assist in the development of schedules WIAA regulations and building policies. Attend league meetings when necessary. Work to insure the athletic program provides equal athletic opportunity for members of both genders. Cooperate with other district programs and other building programs and make decisions which are in the best interest of all concerned.
    28. Assist in hiring assignment and evaluation of all coaches. Conduct building coaches meetings on a regular basis or when necessary.
    29. Work directly with coaches in determining athletic department needs. Assist coaches in purchasing equipment. Assist new coaches in articulation of athletic program. Assist in administering the content of the district coaches handbook with your building coaches. Communicate training education and medical courses available to coaches. Keep coaches informed of certification opportunities.
    30. Assist in preparation development and care of facilities establish procedures for equipment storage repair care and inventory. Coordinate the use of building and field facilities records to building principal or designee.

    REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
    This position reports to the building principal at the assigned site.

    MENTAL DEMANDS
    Experiences frequent interruptions; required to meet inflexible deadlines; requires concentration and attention to detail; may occasionally deal with distraught or difficult individuals.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    1. Washington State Teaching credential. Minimum 35 years teaching experience.
    2. Administrative credential or acceptance in an administrative credential program.
    3. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement appropriate positive behavior interventions for students.
    4. Demonstrated leadership ability.
    5. Evidence of skill and expertise in effective conflict resolution.
    6. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    7. Demonstrated enthusiasm creativity and innovativeness.
    8. Demonstrated competence for successful performance of the responsibilities listed.
    9. Experience with economically and culturally diverse populations.
    10. Knowledge and experience with special education populations.
    11. 35 years of demonstrated successful teaching experience. Preference given to candidates with a range or grade level experiences in grades 912 in the Bethel School District.
    12. A working knowledge of current District student achievement initiatives (No Excuses University RTI making middle grades work high schools that work etc.).
    13. Ability to structure time and manage multiple priorities independently.
    Licenses/Special Requirements
    Requires fingerprinting and background check to determine that there have been no convictions involving physical molestation abuse injury or neglect of a minor.

    UNIT AFFILIATION
    This is a nonunion Manager Level 2 exempt position.
