Data Center Operations Technician - Night Shift

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design planning delivery and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words were the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers storage networking power and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and were looking for talented people who want to help.

Youll join a diverse team of software hardware and network engineers supply chain specialists security experts operations managers and other vital roles. Youll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. We are looking for Data Center Technicians to join our rapidly expanding team. The position will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations. This position involves indepth hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair as well as participating in an oncall rotation.

Effective May 15 2017 logical access to the AWS GovCloud region will be restricted to Amazon employees who are U.S. Citizens. (GovCloud may NOT be accessed from outside of the United States)



Key job responsibilities
These activities include the following:

* Lifting and moving material up to 40 pounds each
* Working in cramped and/or elevated locations
* Bending lifting stretching and reaching
* Standing and walking for up to 8 hours a day
* Ascending and descending ladders stairs and gangways safely and without limitation
* Work in an industrial environment
* Work shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations (covering night shift).
*THIS WILL BE A NIGHT SHIFT ROLE: 6pm6:30am. 312 hour days 1 week and 412 hour days the alternating week.

* Are biased to act in the absence of direction or support
* Improve effectiveness through process innovation

You will be required to work shift work that will include days/nights/weekends/holidays.

Associates degree in ITrelated field or equivalent professional or military experience
2 years of experience with server hardware
1 years of experience with UNIX/Linux operating systems

A or CND (Certified Network Defender) or Network or Security
2 year of experience working in a Data Center environment
Understanding of storage devices
Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
