Job Description
Engine Technician Shop
Holt CAT is the largest Caterpillar dealership of heavy equipment in the United States. We have a fulltime 2nd shift Engine Technician Shop position available at our Longview Texas location. The hours of the position are MondayFriday from 4:00pm to 12:30am.
Job Description:This position is responsible for providing highquality teardown inspection and repairs of diesel and natural gas engines in a shop environment responding to customer needs in a positive caring and timely manner and ensuring maximum value for work performed.
Qualifications:
A qualified candidate must have the following skills or abilities:
- Perform complex repairs correctly such as teardown inspection repairs test running in a shop environment.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of diesel engine rebuilding experience
- Must be able to read schematics and understand manufacture specifications.
- Must be computer literate in order to complete all duties. Daily computer use is required
- CAT ET and CAT SiS experience is preferred or related diagnostic software
- Must be able to write service reports in detail about work performed in order to report to customer all findings.
- Ability to be productive by working efficiently and effectively with a high energy level.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and able to work in a team atmosphere.
- Must have own tools to perform duties.
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Diesel Technical schooling or OffHighway Equipment schooling preferred.
- Must have steady employment history
- Ability to frequently reach bend walk etc.
- Must be able to lift 60 lbs. approximately 15 times a day.
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Excellent attention to detail and resultsoriented.
- Excellent work attendance is required.
- Able to work overtime as needed to meet customer demand
