HOURLY SALARY RANGE:Minimum $13.79 Midpoint $17.24 Maximum $20.69
Primary Purpose:
Facilitate the efficient operation of the counseling office and provide clerical services. Maintain current and accurate confidential student records.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification
High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills
Ability to use computer and software to develop spreadsheets databases and perform word processing
Proficient keyboarding and file maintenance skills
Effective organizational communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Two years secretarial experience preferably in a public education environment
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Reports Records and Correspondence
- Prepare requisitions correspondence and transcripts.
- Prepare documents and lists of students awards assemblies and other student recognition programs.
- Record student information including test scores and final grades on permanent records.
- Create new student files and ensure completeness of records.
- Assist with the registration of new students including requesting and sending student records setting up cumulative folders and entering student data into appropriate databases or computer programs.
- Assist with processing changes and adjustments to student schedules.
- Input and withdraw student PEIMS accountability information as assigned.
- Receive distribute and ensure security and confidentiality of testing materials.
- Distribute testing scholarship and other college materials.
- Maintain college information library.
Reception and Clerical Support
- Serve as receptionist for counseling office.
- Assist students parents and teachers.
- Assist counselor with scheduling meetings and appointments.
- Maintain confidentiality.
Professional Growth and Development
- Participate in professional learning programs staff meetings and special events as assigned.
- Maintain familiarity with the district initiatives to better serve the needs of students.
Communication
- Articulate the districts mission and goals to the community and solicit.
- Maintain confidentiality of student and district information.
