The Site Maintenance Leader is responsible for overseeing the operational efficiency safety and maintenance of manufacturing facilities. This role ensures that all facility systems equipment and processes align with organizational goals for safety quality delivery and cost (SQDC). In this role you will lead crossfunctional teams manage a team of 10 direct reports drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory standards while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Our Vandalia facility is located 50 minutes north of the GE Aerospace headquarters and sits just north of the city of Daytonknown widely as the birthplace of aviationwhere the Wright Brothers built the worlds first aircraft in their bicycle shop in the heart of downtown Dayton. This business boasts a rich history in operation for over 100 years. At over 140000 square feet the Vandalia facility rests on 27 acres right off Interstate 75.
At GE Aerospace in Vandalia we specialize in manufacturing and servicing worldclass power generation and electrical control and distribution equipment for a variety of aerospace customers. Vandalia is also home to a product development lab where operators and engineers work together to invent the future of flight.
Job Description
Role & Responsibilities
- Oversee daytoday operations of manufacturing facilities ensuring optimal performance of equipment and systems.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
- Manage facility upgrades expansions and renovations as needed.
- Ensure all facility operations comply with safety regulations environmental standards and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Promote a culture of safety across all teams and departments.
- Foster collaboration between manufacturing engineering and facility teams to achieve operational goals.
- Drive lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize facility operations.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction energy efficiency and process improvements.
- Work closely with manufacturing leadership to align facility operations with production goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Facilities Management or a related field (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 8 years of manufacturing experience)
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in manufacturing operations facility management or a related role
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations environmental standards and lean manufacturing principles.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problemsolving organizational and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in facility management software and tools.
- Experience with lean methodologies such as Kaizen Standard Work
- Familiarity with energy management and sustainability practices.
- Certification in facilities management (e.g. CFM FMP) or lean manufacturing is a plus.
- Preventative maintenance experience/TPM experience preferred.
