Job Description: Secondary Special Education Program Assistant
Primary Purpose:
Plans and directs in coordination with school and district administration the development implementation and evaluation of Special Education and Section 504 programs processes and support services. Assists in the implementation and coordination of resources to maintain improve and align special education programs across the district. Facilitates the planning organization and/or presentation of staff development programs at the school and district level. Assists and supports school and district special education improvement efforts to focus on student outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications Skills Knowledge Abilities Certificates & Licensure
SKILLS. High level skill proficiency in collecting organizing and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data; preparing graphical presentations of information preparing and maintaining accurate records; using pertinent software applications; and communicating with all stakeholder groups (including staff students families external partners and the community).
KNOWLEDGE is required to review and interpret highly technical information write technical materials and/or speak persuasively to implement desired actions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Specific knowledge required of the following to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job includes Special Education 504 RTI PBIS MTSS SEL culturally responsive instruction; evidencebased academic behavior social and emotional intervention strategies; and whole child programming.
ABILITY is required to communicate with diverse groups; maintain confidentiality; meet deadlines and schedules; set priorities; work as part of a team; work with detailed information/data; work with frequent interruption; provide staff development as it relates to special education and Section 504; being fair and consistent with a strong sense of empathy; and interpret and comply with laws rules policies and trends regarding education and instruction. Ability to perform multiple highly complex technical tasks with a need to continually upgrade skills and knowledge base.
Working Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: Generally the job requires 30% sitting 30% walking and 40% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
Experience
Experience as a licensed educator in the field of special education minimum of 5 years of professional experience
Certificates & Licensure
Current Oregon teaching specialist and/or Administrator License.
CPR/First Aid Certificate
